First day: 525 cases of traffic violation in Bengaluru's zero tolerance junctions

  • On day one of the implementation of the policy ₹58,900 fine at the zero-tolerance junctions have been collected.
  • 191 in number were booked at the Sony World Junction.
  • In future, more traffic junctions will be added to the list of zero-tolerance.
525 traffic violation cases at zero tolerance junctions in Bengaluru

 

The Bengaluru City traffic police booked 525 cases of traffic rule violation and collected ₹58,900 fine at the zero-tolerance junctions on the first day of the policy implementation at 10 designated traffic junctions around the city, according to a report in a daily newspaper. 

 

The highest number of cases which is 191 in number were booked at the Sony World Junction and 107 cases were booked in the Trinity junction. Third highest number of traffic violation cases were booked at the Cauvery Arts and  Crafts junction. 

 

Abhishek Goyal, DCP Traffic East, confirmed that policemen were deployed at the zero-tolerance junctions for the on-the-spot fine for traffic rule violation. 

 

As of now, 10 junctions in the city has been identified as the zero-tolerance zone on the basis of the volume of vehicles, and here the traffic violation will be strictly dealt with. 

 

These 10 zero-tolerance junctions are Sadashivanagar police station, Shivanananda, N.R. Junction, Cauvery Arts and Crafts, Urvashi, K.R. Road/Cubbon Road, Trinity Road, Old Madras Road, Sony World and ISRO junction. In future, more traffic junctions will be added to the list confirmed the DCP.
