Dasara elephants have begun practicing for the Jamboo Savari at the Mysuru palace premises. The elephants are led by Abhimanyu who will carry the Golden Howdah. Elephants and mahouts are under quarantine before festive celebrations.

District Minister ST Somashekar has said that everyone taking part in the Jamboo Savari procession will be tested for COVID-19 five days ahead of the event. 2,000 people attending the procession should possess a COVID -19 negative report. 

The elephants taking part in the Mysuru Dasara will undergo COVID-19 tests before entering Mysuru Palace. The state government has given a green signal to the forest department’s list of elephants taking part.
