Karnataka government has reduced the security expenses of Abdul Nasser Madani following criticism from Supreme Court. With the new ruling, it has become clear that the PDP leader will attend his son's marriage at Thalassery.

The amount towards security expense was reduced from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 1,18,000.

The apex court also extended the parole till August 19, extending it by four days. The court had earlier granted him parole for 14 days from August 1 to 14. Karnataka government had asked the PDP leader to bear the security expenses for the period, and he had agreed to the term.

However, the government slapped Rs 15 lakh towards expenses and Madani decided to approach Supreme Court stating that he won't be able to bear the exorbitant amount and it is the duty of the state to ensure security to remand prisoners.

Following this, Supreme Court ordered that the police officials can accept only travel allowance and daily allowance while escorting the PDP leader during his visit to Kerala. However, the court denied Madani's demand to reduce his security.
