Kerala CM summoned by Governor to discuss law and order situation

In the wake of the tense situation prevailing in the state capital after the murder of an RSS worker, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hold discussions with RSS and BJP leaders on Monday.

The meeting will be held at CM's office at 10 am. BJP state chief Kummanam Rajasekharan, MLA O Rajagopal and RSS leader P. Gopalankutty will be attend the discussions.

The meeting was lined up after Pinarayi  was summoned by the Kerala Governor P Sathasivam on Sunday to discuss the law and order situation in the state. The CM said that he would be making a public appeal for peace after meeting BJP state president Kummanam. Pinarayi also said that the lawbreakers will be dealt sternly, irrespective of their status or political affiliation.

Meanwhile, the Kerala police also updated the Governor about the law and order situation. Sathasivam is also said to have spoken to Rajnath Singh, Rajasekharan and CPI-M Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan about the stone pelting on his son's house. He apparently also posted a Tweet after his 11:30 meeting with the CM at the Raj Bhavan. Police on Sunday arrested all six persons who took part in the hacking of the Rajesh and arrested two others who helped the six. Two other men are on the run.

The six arrests are said to have been made from a rubber estate in the capital's suburbs. While CP(I)M leaders say that the party does not have any role in Rajesh's murder, police suspect that this is the outcome of political and personal rivalry.

Meanwhile, there are reports of another possible attack in the capital that has pressed the security at the AKG Centre into action. Prohibitory orders have been extended in the capital for the next 3 days due to the tense situation. The cops who have gone on leave have been asked to report back immediately. DGP Loknath Behera said that the police is ready to deal with any attacks.
