Despite the bandh call by Vatal Nagaraj, Bengaluru woke up to a usual Monday morning on June 12 indicating that the bandh may not have an impact. Schools and colleges were open as usual and even the BMTC buses were plying. Event the Metro services were not suspended.

However, Vatal Nagaraj has threatened of severe repercussions if the organisations defy his bandh call. Buses were stopped in Vijayapura and other places in the state. Stray incidents of stone pelting have also been reported, reports Suvarna News. Some of the business establishments were forced to shut down by protesters in Hubli and Bagalkote.

In Bengaluru, Vatal Nagaraj has threatened to pelt stones on BMTC buses if they continue to run. Not just that, the Kannada activist say that hotels will suffer - if they are open during bandh hour - as protesters have been allegedly instructed not to pay at hotels for the food they have.

The bandh has been called for June 12 by Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj putting forward various demands. But many branches of Kannada organisations have not extended their support to the bandh exposing the differences within. As a result, schools and colleges have not declared holiday on Monday. Also, hotel owners' association, auto drivers' association too have decided not to participate in the bandh.

Meanwhile, it is said that the protesters have not obtained any permission from the police to hold the bandh today. Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president Praveen Shetty has been issued notice by the police for the bandh call without the permission. However, the police have provided security at various crucial junctions in the city to maintain law and order.
