No petrol bunk strike in Karnataka on Wednesday

The All India Petroleum Dealers Association (AIPDA) has withdrawn its decision to stage a protest and bandh on July 12. Thus petrol, diesel will be available across the country on Wednesday.

Earlier, the AIPDA had announced that the association across the country would go on a stir on July 12, putting forth various demands including protesting against every day revision of the petrol, diesel price.

Following the bandh threat, three oil companies owned by the government and Union Petroleum Minister has responded to the Association. The Minister is said to have promised to resolve the problem by the end of July.

Following this assurance, the Association has decided to withdraw the stir and there will be no bandh, said a statement from AIPDA.

The Association had earlier stated that there would be no sale of petrol and diesel on July 12 as the rates are being revised without consulting the Association. This is causing a loss to the dealers. As per schedule, more than 3,000 petrol bunks were supposed to pull the shutters.

However, the withdrawal of stir might just be a temporary solution if the promise made by the Ministry is not fulfilled by the end of this month.
