A Bengaluru woman gave an honest account of the expenses associated with living alone in the city, including everything from food and rent to exercise classes and those unavoidable impulsive purchases. In the video, Instagram user Shruti talked candidly about her monthly costs as a single woman residing in a one-bedroom flat in Bengaluru's HSR Layout. Her post's description said, "So here's my honest monthly breakdown as a single woman living alone in a 1BHK in HSR."

She said that she paid Rs 5,000 for rental items and Rs 36,000 for rent each month. She spent about Rs 4,000 on housekeeping and electricity bills together.
She said that her monthly shopping and food delivery costs were between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000 because she cooks the majority of her meals and makes an effort to eat healthily.
Her transportation costs came to an additional Rs 4,000 to 5,000, and the cost of fitness activities, such as courses, Pilates, and gym sessions, was around Rs 5,000. She made a joke about how "how much self-control" she had determined how much she spent on coffee, dining out, and sporadic cravings, but she didn't want to talk about shopping or impulsive purchases.
In order to give viewers a true image of what it takes to sustain an independent living in one of Bengaluru's most sought-after districts, she listed each category of costs one by one in the movie.
Ending the post on a humorous note, Shruti wrote, "Adulting in Bangalore is fun. My bank account may disagree," suggesting that while she enjoys the comfort and freedom of living alone, the costs that come with it often leave her wallet feeling the strain.
