Sachin Tendulkar tests positive for COVID-19
Sachin Tendulkar is a legendary Indian cricketer who holds the record for being the highest run-scorer in Tests and One-Day Internationals. He retired from the sport in 2015 and has since involved himself in other cricketing activities while occasionally playing the sport.
Legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for COVID-19. He took to his Twitter handle on Saturday to announce the same.
In his Twitter post, Tendulkar wrote, "I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure Covid is kept at bay. However, I've tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative."
"I've quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care, all of you," he added.
Tendulkar recently took part in the Road Safety World Series Twenty20 tournament in Raipur, where he played for India Legends alongside Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan and many more. His side won the final, beating Sri Lanka Legends by 14 runs.
Tendulkar remains the highest run-scorer in the sport, in Tests and One-Day Internationals. He retired from all forms of the sport in 2015 and has since associated himself with other cricketing and sporting activities, including sports businesses and charity.
