At the swearing-in venue, thousands of people could be seen sporting yellow (basanti) colour following a request from Mann. 

Mann, who was the party’s chief ministerial candidate, will take the oath on March 16 at the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh’s native village Khatkar Kalan.

Yogi met Governor Anandiben Patel at the Raj Bhavan on Friday and handed over his resignation to her, paving the way for the formation of the new government.  

Sawant told reporters after reacting to the resignation, "The process of forming a new government has begun. On Monday, the House would be dissolved. The Central Observer will arrive in Goa to determine the date of the new government's oath ceremony."

Mann arrived to the Governor's Office just two days after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won a historic mandate in the recently completed Punjab Assembly elections.Following his meeting with the governor, Bhagwant Mann spoke with the media and confirmed the date of his oath ceremony.
