UK to offer shopping vouchers, discounts to boost youth vaccinations
The offer will include a free lift to vaccine centres and cheap meals for those who got their first jab. Among other brands, Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo and Pizza Pilgrims are some prominent brands that are a part of the government scheme.
The United Kingdom is planning all ideas for a 'vouchers for vaccines scheme' to encourage younger age groups to get their vaccines shots, including shopping vouchers and pizza discounts. As per media reports, several food delivery apps and commute apps will offer discounts on travel and meals to the people who get vaccinated. The offer will include a free lift to vaccine centres and cheap meals for those who got their first jab. Among other brands, Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo and Pizza Pilgrims are some prominent brands that are a part of the government scheme. Â
According to UK reports, the details of this scheme are still not finalised, but people can prove that they have been jabbed by submitting a selfie of themselves at the vaccine centre.Â
Sajid Javid, UK Health Secretary, urged people to 'take advantage of the discounts' and thanked businesses for taking the initiative to help the country.
UK Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi requested citizens to get their jab and claim their bargains.
