'Don't expect a great deal': Apple lowers iPhone 7 expectations

Apple lowers iPhone 7 expectations

Plenty of speculation has been doing the rounds on the internet ahead of the iPhone 7 launch, which is scheduled for September 2016. Though initially the phone was expected to have several advanced features, things now appear to be otherwise.

According to a researcher’s review at Amazon, the phone will probably have an upgraded battery backup and storage capacity. The report mentioned that the iPhone7 will probably have a 32GB internal storage by default. This has been a long standing demand among techies, since the current default of 16 GB is considered to be extremely limited, forcing users to shell out an extra ₹10,000 rupees for the more practical 32 GB version.

On the software side, a press note from Apple revealed that the new iPhone7 will run iOS 9, the latest iteration of the iOS operating system.

The company said iOS 9 will be launched in the market along with iPhone 7, whose release date is yet to be formally announced.

iOS 9 is currently being developed by the team at Cupertino and has been codenamed Monarch. Among other upgrades it aims to provide better stability and improved battery performance - a sore point among iPhone users.

However, Apple has been aggressively downplaying expectations. In a press release, it stated:: "This serious design overhaul and addition of too many of the features is simply unnecessary and too cluttering to use according to many Apple fans. To overcome this, Apple is pushing a great deal of optimizations improvements in iOS 9. So we should not expect a great deal of the addition in latest features or design revamp in iOS 9."

Whatever 'users' Apple may have been speaking to, in general users continue to have their own expectations from the iOS 9 and iPhone7 - and they do not seem to be limited in any form.
