Ind vs Aus From 94 for 3 to 105 all out The great Indian batting collapse

Australia are right on top in the first Test match against India as they have bundled the hosts for a paltry 105. Steve Smith’s side took a massive lead of 155 runs in the first innings and that too on a wicket that is spitting venom. Let me just remind you, it is just the second day of the Test match and if Australia manage to get their lead past 400 runs somehow, considering they have an extremely good batting lineup, then Virat Kohli and co. are staring at a defeat.

Captain Kohli registered his first duck in the longest format of the game on the Indian soil as Mitchell Starc sent him back to the pavilion in no time. KL Rahul was the only batsman to show some resistance and the rest of the Indian batting order collapsed like a house of cards.

From 94 for 3 to 105 all out – yes you read that right, much like a great Indian collapse in front of in-form Starc and a fired-up Stephen O’Keefe. The left-arm orthodox spinner picked up six wickets in 24 balls and orchestrated the collapse.

The pitch has yielded seven wickets in 15 overs during the post-lunch session. There is this sense of anxiety with every ball bowled on this wicket. This match is likely to give us a result. It only remains to be seen how many runs Australia post on the scoreboard for India to chase in the second innings of the opening Test of the four-match series in Pune.

India will have to show a lot of grit and play good all-round cricket to save this match. Kohli and co. will have to re-strategise their plan in order to come up with a better show in the second innings of the game.
