To put a lid on the infighting that cost the party dear last time, Amit Shah, the BJP president made the clearest statement of Yeddyurappa's choice at the Tiranga Rally in Mangaluru. While addressing the guests seated at the event dais, Amit Shah introduced Yeddyurappa as the former and future CM.

Meanwhile, the cold war between BJP's Shimoga MLA KS Eshwarappa and Yeddyurappa shows no sign of abating. At the Tiranga Rally, Yeddyurappa is believed to have given an oral complaint to Amit Shah against Eshwarappa.

Suvarna News reported that Yeddyurappa complained to Shah about Eshwarappa's efforts such as forming the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade (a movement to rally the support of OBCs and Dalits) and the Hinda Convention independent of the party's involvement. In this connection, Yeddyurappa has said that this kind of conventions would damage the credibility of the party. When BJP itself had an OBC unit, an SC Morcha, Yeddyurappa contended that there was no need for party leaders to float alternative fora.

Amit Shah, after listening to the complaints and allegations made by Yeddyurappa, has agreed to discuss these matters in the core committee meeting which is scheduled to be held on 23rd August in Delhi.
