Ola and Uber driver’s union has exerted so much pressure on the Bengaluru cab aggregators that they actually have come out and said that they are going to solve the issues by February 6. If the aggregators fail that deadline, then the drivers have yet again threatened to go on strike from February 7.

President of the union, Tanveer Pasha confirmed that if their demands are not met by February 6, they will go on strike again from the very next day. Pasha even said that they will approach the court if the cab aggregators do not fall in line. Also there is a deadline for the aggregators. Ola and Uber will have to stop their ride-sharing services by Friday.

“Ola and Uber have sought some time to stop their illegal shuttle and share/pool services in the city. They have agreed to reduce the fine on drivers for denial of duty from Rs 500 per cancellation to Rs 50 per cancellation. App-based aggregators also assured that the required number of trips per day for incentives will be reduced from the present 18-20,” Pasha told The New Indian Express.

“We are ready to ply at government fixed fare instead of the flat rate of Rs 400 for airport.”

It seems the pressure from the union have made the aggregators bend their existing rules. This will not only create dissatisfaction amongst the customers but also they will think twice before taking these app-based taxi services.

The rates of to and fro travel from the airport will see a hike. The sharing service will be stopped and that will see drop in customers for both Ola and Uber. The fine value is likely to get reduced to ₹ 50 from ₹ 500 if the drivers cancel. The drivers tend to cancel the duties if they do not find the trips convenient and now they can flex their finger muscles to cancel or deny duties more freely.
