The arrest of Manjooran had led to a face-off between lawyers and media communities in the state. Supreme Court Chief Justice TS Thakur sent legal experts and representatives to end the tiff and directed the High Court to lift the ban on media.
Taking a tough stand against Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran, the state government pleader accused of a molestation attempt, the police have informed the Kerala High Court that the case against Manjooran cannot be dropped as there are strong evidences against the lawyer.

In the investigative report produced before the Kerala High Court, the police said they have taken statements of 35 eyewitnesses’ to confirm the identity of Manjooran. They also informed that there are strong evidences to prove that Manjooran’s father had attempted to influence the victim and persuaded her to sign papers so that Manjooran could be released on bail and a goon was hired for this purpose.
Justice Philip Thomas directed the police to submit its findings in the form of a written statement.
The molestation case against government pleader Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran had snowballed into a clash between the media and the legal fraternity recently. The lawyers had alleged that Manjooran was framed in the case and the police had misused media to give publicity to the arrest of Manjooran. The lawyers also banned media across the state including the High Court and violent clashes erupted at many places between presspersons and lawyers, finally Supreme Court Chief Justice TS Thakur intervened to resolve the issue.
