The IT department in its report stated that Kerala CM's daughter Veena Vijayan paid the IGST for the payment received from CMRL. The development came in response to Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan's allegations.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan's firm Exalogic allegedly received payment from a private company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) in monthly installments in the last three years without providing any service.

In Hoskote, Bengaluru Rural district, a popular biryani shop owner was found involved in a Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion case during an anti-tax evasion operation by the Karnataka Commercial Tax Department. The owner had multiple Unified Payments Interface (UPI) QR codes and a significant cash amount of Rs 1.47 crore at home. Tax authorities have initiated legal proceedings and are scrutinizing various tactics used by tax evaders, including accepting payments through multiple UPI accounts to conceal GST transactions.

The GST Council discussed the retrospective charges placed on these companies. Due to the independent nature of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), the council noted that there could be no interference in their actions.
