The Kerala police Thunderbolts special forces apprehended two Maoists in Wayanad on Tuesday (Nov 7). They were arrested after a gun battle between the forces and the Maoists. 

The situation at the local polling booth Gudhdi indicates a 16% voter turnout so far. Contrary to earlier reports suggesting that Naxals had surrounded a polling booth, the Chhattisgarh police clarified that this information was incorrect, and the voting process is progressing without disruption.

One soldier of the CRPF CoBRA Battalion was injured in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in the Tondamarka area of Sukma. The soldier was deployed for election duty.
 

The Maoists on Monday opened fire at forest officials at Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary in Kannur. However, the officials were not injured in the firing as they fled the scene. The attack occurred without any provocation.

Following the constant presence of Maoists in Kambamala in the Wayanad district, the police are conducting extensive surveillance. A group of armed Maoists is always present after dusk.

All Maoist members, according to locals, were armed, and the gang distributed posters calling for the takeover of the Aralam farm in Kannur.  The Maoists visited the region five times with weapons including guns between May and August 11 of this year alone.

According to the appeal, a significant portion of the cash has either ended up in people's lockers or has "been hoarded by separatists, terrorists, Maoists, drug smugglers, mining mafias, and corrupt people."

There are over 102 criminal cases against Gope in Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha. These cases relate to extortion, murder, threat, abduction and raising funds for the People's Liberation Front of India. The PLFI, which was formed in 2007 in Jharkhand, is a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoists.

This was the biggest strike by the Maoists on the security forces in the state in the last two years.

The ABVP shared the portrait's images and condemned the incident. According to the tweet, the ABVP paid tribute to Veer Shivaji today, but Maoists vandalised the picture that students put up. The ABVP also condemned the 'vandalism' of photos of Veer Shivaji by anti-national elements and the 'constant vandalism by the left.'
 

Singh further said that through three special operations – 'Operation Octopus', 'Operation Thunderstorm' and 'Operation Bulbul' – launched since April this year, the security forces have freed Burha Pahad along the Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh border from the control of the rebels.

The journalist was identified as Rohit Biswal was trying to go near posters put up by suspected Maoists warning people not to vote in the coming panchayat polls in Mohangiri village in Madanpur-Rampur block, police said.

The encounter occurred in the forest in between Ilmidi and close to the Usur police station area in Chhattisgarh

The action was carried out during joint search operations by the troops of the ITBP's 44th Battalion and Chhattisgarh Police.
