In a hearing led by Justice Abhayachandra Oka, the Supreme Court advised IPS officer D. Roopa and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri to resolve their social media defamation dispute through conversation. Sindhuri's lawyer sought an apology from Roopa, highlighting the lingering impact of defamation. Roopa insisted on an apology. The court recommended direct communication and granted one month for a resolution, emphasizing the significance of dialogue.

IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri has been appointed as Chief Editor in the Karnataka Gazetteer Department after a 7-month period without a posting, following a feud with IPS officer D. Roopa. Both officers were removed from their roles and transferred earlier, but now have received new assignments in the government. 

The action comes a day after the administration warned of disciplinary action against them.

On Sunday, IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil shared private photos of IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri on social media, claiming that Rohini Sindhuri violated service rules by sending her photos to male IAS officers. 

Carrying out a major reshuffle, the Karnataka government has transferred two senior IPS officers D Roopa and Hemant Nimbalkar among others.

After Karnataka IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil, supported the government’s decision to impose ban on firecrackers during Deepavali, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut said that police officers like her were a shame in the name of the force. "She should be suspended from the force," her tweet read.
