Kuwait Fire Tragedy: The building in Kuwait that caught fire was leased by Malayali businessman KG Abraham. Over 50 Indians including 24 Malayalis lost their lives in the tragedy. 

A Kerala man identified as Nalinakshan from Thrikaripur, Kasaragod, narrowly escaped a fire in Kuwait by jumping from the third floor of a burning building into a water tank below.

The death of Malayalis in the Kuwait fire along with other Indians is increasing. According to the latest reports from NORKA, at least 24 Keralites were killed and 7 are in critical condition.

The Kerala government has announced Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to the families of the deceased in the Kuwait fire tragedy. Additionally, Rs 1 lakh will be given to those injured in the incident.

The death toll in the tragic Kuwait fire in a building now stands at 49 including 14 people from Kerala alone. The Indian government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of Indian nationals.

A fire broke out in a building in Mangaf, Kuwait, housing around 195 laborers from neighboring commercial areas, including individuals from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and North India. The fire resulted in at least 35 fatalities.

According to reports, Abdul Rahim, a native of Kerala's Kozhikode serving a death sentence in a Saudi jail, is likely to be released in mid-June. Over Rs 47 crore was generated via crowdfunding needed for the blood money. 

The inaugural flight for the 2024 Haj season, designated by the Kerala State Hajj Committee, is scheduled to depart from Karipur at 12:05 am on May 21. At the same time, the Haj camp at Nedumbassery will be operational from May 24 to June 10 to facilitate the pilgrimage.

Abdul Rahim, from Kozhikode, Kerala, arrived in Saudi Arabia in 2006 to work as a driver. Around Rs 34 crore was collected for the release of Abdul Rahim, who has been in prison for 18 years and facing the death penalty in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
