In the video Dilna says that she was a Christian by birth and converted to Hinduism to marry Abhijith Balan, a Kozhikode native who is the general manager of a resort in Vaikom. Dilna shot the video from a room in the same resort.

Dilna says she is suffering brutal physical assault at the hands of her husband, who now wants to marry another woman, and her father-in-law, who allegedly has massive political influence. Towards the end of the video, we hear knocks on the door, and a scared Dilna says her husband is at the door and will kill her.

The Vaikom police reached the resort in a few hours and freed the woman, before admitting her to the Medical College for tests as she had swelling on her forehead.

Vaikom CI Anilkumar S said that a case has been registered and an investigation will be carried out into the incident. The Women's Commission is expected to visit the woman at the hospital later today, to record her statement before filing a complaint on their own..
