Amit Shah launches Mission 150

BJP national president Amit Shah launched the Mission - 150 to strengthen the Party in the State. Shah is on a 3-day visit to the State. On the second day of his visit, he held a meeting of the members of parliamentary affairs committee and obtained information about the number of constituencies where BJP has not won even once and the reason for that, reports Kannada Prabha.

He analysed the performance of BJP in the three assembly elections between 2004 and 2013 and divided the 224 constituencies into three segments and suggested to have three different strategies for each segment, it is reported. He urged that the Mission - 150 must be accomplished on any accord and end the Congress rule in Karnataka. There are no compromises in this regard. All leaders must set aside other works and focus on strengthening the party. The only aim is to see that the party comes to power in Karnataka, he said strategically.

On Saturday, the first day he had held a meeting with the senior leaders, MPs and MLAs and office-bearers of various capacities and expressed his unhappiness that the leaders had not prepared adequately to face the poll. Hence he had called for constituency-wise information and advice on where to focus on what, it is said.

Armed with district-wise and Lok Sabha constituency wise data, Amit Shah said along with possible winning constituencies, probable areas must also be covered. He also advised the senior leaders to concentrate on the weak constituencies and strengthen them. Strategies must be chalked out to identify and win Congress and JD(S) stronghold areas.  Leadership must be developed to win in areas where if not in the next election at least in the future elections. He advised the leaders not to decide on their own that certain areas as belonging to Congress or JD(S). BJP must attempt to create alternative leaderships in such areas in view of futuristic targets, he said.

On Sunday, Amit Shah visited the Adi Chunchanagiri mutt and released the biography of Balagangadharanatha Swamy, erstwhile seer of the mutt, authored by Sudhamayi Raghunath. He said he was stunned by seer’s achievements. Praising the Ashta Sutras of the swamy as ideal to the entire country, he said the Guru Parampare and the Gurus of Karnataka have achieved more public service than the government's. He also was highly appreciative of the over 464 educational institutions run by the mutt where 1.48 lakh students are studying. State BJP president BS Yeddyurappa, Union ministers DV Sadananda Gowda and Anantha Kumar, MP Shobha Karandlaje and others were present.
