21-year-old Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani on Tuesday assured India that there will be no attacks on Amarnath pilgrims this year. Atop BSF official had claimed earlier this month that the pilgrimage was under threat.

“The recent claim made by a BSF officer is a lie. We have no plans to attack the Amarnath Yatra. People come here to perform religious rituals and we don’t have a problem with it,” he said.
According to media reports, a top BSF official last week said that there are intelligence reports indicating an attack on the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir. He revealed this vital information at the wreath laying ceremony in Srinagar to honour three BSF troopers who were martyred in an attack at Bijbehara on Friday.
"There are intelligence reports that militants have plans to attack the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra but we have made adequate arrangements to ensure an incident free Yatra this year also," he said.
However, the Hizbul commander has rubbished the claim and said that the Indian army should be more worried about the Sainik colonies that they are setting up in the Kashmir valley. Apart from that he also warned the J&K police for going against the group and said that India is conspiring against Kashmir by making the police force go against the group.
“The Hindus of this place, who reside outside, they can come to their homes to stay there. If they stay at places where they have their homes, their land, they will find us as their guards…But these separate Israel-type colonies, this is an Indian conspiracy against us. We will act against them (separate Pandit colonies),” Burhan said.
