Union HM Amit Shah joined SSB for 'Bada Khana' in Siliguri. He inaugurated an exhibition on new criminal laws and a police building. He slammed Mamata Banerjee over land allotment for BSF and praised CM Suvendu Adhikari's prompt action.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday joined Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel for the 'Bada Khana' in Siliguri, West Bengal. 'Bada Khana', Shah described, is a tradition in which jawans and officers of the security forces share a meal together.
"Today, joined the Sashastra Seema Bal for the 'Bada Khana' in Siliguri, West Bengal. It is a tradition among India's security forces in which jawans and officers share a meal together, strengthening their bond and rejuvenating their shared purpose," Shah posted on X, sharing a glimpse from the event.
Shah Inaugurates Key Projects
Earlier today, the Home Minister inaugurated the exhibition on three new criminal laws, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).
In West Bengal, he also inaugurated the office building of the newly constructed Vidhan Nagar Police Commissionerate.
Shah Slams Mamata Over Land Allotment, Praises Adhikari
Addressing the gathering, Shah slammed the former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress over the delay in allotment of land to border forces. He said the Centre had repeatedly requested the previous state government for land for the BSF.
"We had tirelessly appealed to Mamata Banerjee to allot land to BSF, but she did not do so until she left. I had even visited her office once and explained to her that this land was meant for BSF and not BJP," he said.
Shah then credited Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for the quick action on infiltration. "Within 45 days of government formation in West Bengal, 1129 acres of land have been given to BSF and SSB by Suvendu ji. This promptness in action is not because he is a BJP CM. He understands that until infiltration stops, neither West Bengal nor India is safe," Shah said.
He also said that the judicial system will be transformed with "three Ts: Technology, Transparency and Timeline."
