India, Sri Lanka end Mitra Shakti with a bang (WATCH VIDEO)
Indian Army chief Gen MM Naravane and Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff Gen Shavendra Silva witnessed the culmination exercise Mitra Shakti between the troops of two countries at Maduru Oya Special Forces Training School in Sri Lanka.

During the validation exercise, the troops of two neighbouring countries demonstrated fighting in built-up areas which involves clearing enemy personnel from narrow and entrenched places like trenches, bunkers and strongholds, dismantling mines and wires and securing footholds in enemy areas.
The two army chiefs appreciated the successful conduct of the eighth edition of exercise Mitra Shakti.
Gen Naravane complimented the troops of both contingents for their high standards of training and professionalism.
The Indian Army chief who is on a 5-day trip to Sri Lanka has held a series of meetings with top hierarchies in the Sri Lankan government.
He discussed issues of common and strategic cooperation with Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
He also discussed issues related to boosting bilateral defence cooperation with his counterpart.
