The Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv has today become the backbone of the main operations of the Indian Army.

The Dhruv, which is now part of the Indian Army's new aviation brigade at Missamari in Assam's Tezpur, has been playing a crucial role in operations in the Eastern sector.

Not only has it been providing logistical support to the soldiers deployed along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh, but the twin-engine helicopter has enabled the army to conduct operations at night.

The mission systems make it capable of doing operations like inductions, de-inductions, slithering and casualty evacuation.

Listen in to Corps of Army Aviation's Lt Col Amit Dadhwal as he explains how the LCH Dhruv has changed the nature of operations in the eastern sector.
