Google Photos introduces new AI feature 'Magic Editor'; Know how it will impact your pics
Google I/O 2023: With Magic Editor, users will be able to make edits to specific parts of the photos — like the foreground or background — as well as fill in gaps in the photo.
A new AI-based editing tool called "Magic Editor" for Google photographs was unveiled at Google I/O 2023, giving users the ability to make considerable adjustments to their photographs. Enhancing the sky, moving items or people in the image, and erasing background people are all features of this function. Later this year, it will be accessible via early access to a limited number of Pixel users.
Google claims that Magic Editor can automatically do complicated modifications, such as adjusting certain areas of an image to eliminate undesired items, altering composition by moving the subject, and updating features like the sky.

Users will be able to edit certain aspects of the images, such as the foreground or background, as well as fill in any blank spaces or even move the subject for a better-framed shot using Magic Editor.
Google demonstrated how Magic Editor may be used to enhance a photograph of a person standing in front of a waterfall, for instance.
In addition to changing how cropping and scaling operate, Magic Editor may also produce new material when moving a picture, according to the developer. This feature is expected to become available on devices other than Pixel phones in the future.

This is comparable to the image cutout feature Apple introduced with iOS 16 last year, which could also isolate the subject from the rest of the picture to do things like copy and paste part of the picture into another app, grab the subject from pictures found through Safari search, or place the picture's subject in front of the clock on the iOS Lock Screen, among other things.
Google says it will release Magic Editor as an experimental feature later this year, warning that there will be times when it doesn’t quite work correctly.
