Roads and transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) have decided to make travelling in the city smarter than ever. This plan is likely going to take the Dubai Taxi Corporation’s (DTC) services to a different level by 2021. This improvement plan comprises of 64 initiatives which will be implemented by 2021.

 

Have you ever thought about a driver-less taxi? It is time you start dreaming as it is soon going to true in Dubai. However, it is not going to completely driver-less as you might think. These will be autonomous cabs. There will be situational improvisations. These smart cabs will be able to communicate with the surrounding vehicles.

 

RTA have also included the improvement of quality offences code, spotting offending drivers, rewards and incentives system and the revision of conditions for the rotation of drivers in their plan.

 

Director general and chairman of the board of executive directors of the RTA, Mattar Al Tayer stated that they are also looking forward to improve the attitudes of taxi drivers. In order to do this, they will upgrade technologically and hold educational sessions for the drivers.

 

RTA will also upgrade customers' happiness centres. They will also install surveillance cameras in the cabs with interactive screens. RTA in association with DTC will also run on-road performance monitoring system.
