Ayurveda hospital inform parents of girls recovery 1 hr later they receive her dead body

A 17-year old girl from Coimbatore met a tragic ending in the most unlikely of places. Herbal therapy is considered to be a safe method of medication, but it turned out the other way in the case of this girl. According to a local report the girl-Bhagyasri-had joined the Herbocare hospital in Erode in the hope of losing weight. The owner of the hospital, Naveen Balaji, reportedly guaranteed that the girl will lose weight for sure.

The girl was reportedly treated for 9 days in the hospital. When the girl and her parents went to the hospital on May 2, the authorities gave her some medicine, which were to be taken regularly. However, Bhagyasree's condition changed two days after she started taking the medicine. She started fainting frequently and was also behaving like a 3-year old. Her father, Shakti said that Bhagyasri had never encountered such a problem previously and was perfectly fine. However, her only problem was her weight which also caused wheezing.

The parents decided to take their daughter to a private hospital when the doctors at the hospital said that she should be brought back to the hospital. The parents gave in to their demands and Bhagyasri was taken to the hospital again where she was administered a few medicines. She was unconscious for the next four days.

The doctors at the hospital, reportedly said that they would take good care of Bhagyasri and asked her parents to leave for a wedding they were invited to. Her father kept calling the hospital every half an hour to enquire about her health, but the authorities said that she was doing fine. The next day, when her father called again, the doctors said that Bhagyasri was fine and that she was drinking soup. However, after an hour they received an ambulance with her body.

It was later revealed that the girl had died the previous night itself. Authorities claimed that they did not inform the parents because they were at a wedding. Moreover, they shifted the girl to a private hospital, without informing them, where she was declared brought dead.

However, that was not the end of the ordeal for the parents. When they rushed Bhagyasri's body General Hospital in Coimbatore for an autopsy, they met with further apathy. They were said that they could take the body only after paying a bribe of Rs 3,000.

Meanwhile, the authorities at the hospital denied any miscommunication and said that the girl was given proper treatment. Bhagyasri's father filed a complaint at the Kavindapadi police station alleging that Bhagyasri died due to improper treatment. According to an online publication site JFW, a case has been booked under Section 174 of the CrPc (directing police to enquire into cases of unnatural death). Police is now waiting for the autopsy report to press further charges.
