In a shocking incident, forest officer's son from Tamil Nadu was caught trading wildlife in Bengaluru. 

Raghul Raj, an Airtel engineer, and son of P Natarajan Deputy Range Forest Officer from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu used to smuggle wildlife like Alexandrian parakeets from Tamil Nadu to sell in Bengaluru for commercial gains.

The CID Forest Division of Karnataka arrested Raghul on Monday night at HSR Layout near Airtel server room. It is said that the accused used to house these birds near Airtel Tower at HSR layout where he worked as an engineer. 

"The accused was very active on social networking group and has shared few picture on Whatsapp. The message that also reached one of the informers, he then tipped off about his movement. We have this information of Raghul selling parakeets. The accused has come in bike and kept all the parakeet chicks in cartel box. The accused was arrested with evidence, and on Tuesday a case was booked under wildlife act,"

Raghul Raj was managing three Airtel server rooms at Kudlu gate, Electronics city and HSR Layout in Bangalore.

From last few days, he has been calling prospective buyers to these server rooms and had sold 12 birds to various people for Rs.4500 a pair.

The police confirmed that they have seized his mobile phone are also tracking all the calls from Tamil Nadu as they suspect there is a large gang involved in this wildlife trade from Tamil Nadu.

"We have limitations of the jurisdiction and hence we cannot enter Tamil Nadu. However, all the information will be shared with TN counterparts to crack on wildlife traders," said senior CID officer from forest department.
