The absence of the Tamil Nadu Governor has been a major factor in the ongoing political crisis. Without him to administer the oath, VK Sasikala, the person chosen by the AIADMK to be the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has been unable to take up her position, even as O Panneerselvam leads a revolt against her elevation.

"The Governor will leave for Chennai tomorrow afternoon," a Raj Bhavan official told PTI on Wednesday evening.
The Governor has been in Mumbai, since his return from Delhi on Monday night. On Wednesday evening, he attended a scheduled event in Mumbai. A political crisis looms large over Tamil Nadu after O Panneerselvam dropped a bombshell, saying that he was forced to resign as Chief Minister to make way for AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala, who awaits to be sworn in for the top job.
