Bhadra, the dog who survived after being flung off a terrace has been adopted She has recovered completely and is happy with her new family

Bhadra, the dog who survived after being flung off a terrace in Chennai by two medical students, has finally found a home for herself. On Wednesday, through a Facebook post, Antony Rubin, an animal activist, announced that Karthik Dhandapani who has been fostering Bhadra for the last couple of months, has decided to adopt her, calling it a fairy tale ending.

Animal welfare activist Antony Rubin who was a part of the team actively involved in rescuing Bhadra, told Asianet Newsable, “Just days after we rescued Bhadra, she started getting unwanted attention from the public and we wanted to keep her away from all the attention till she recovers fully.”

They then approached Karthik Dhandapani, a dog lover whom they knew for over six years, to foster Bhadra and Karthik happily agreed. Eventually, when Rubin and his team decided to find a family for Bhadra to take care of her forever, they thought Karthik was the best option they had. “We have seen him take care of Bhadra and we have seen her recover fast under his care and attention and that's what made us take this decision,” Rubin said.

We at Asianet Newsable spoke to Karthik who is extremely happy to have Bhadra in his family. “Bhadra is a very friendly dog and the courage that she has shown is extremely commendable,” Karthik said. He stays with his mother who is not used to having dogs around but since they have seen Bhadra grow and recover, they are now attached to her and cannot even think of giving her away.
