Oath Taking

As the custodian of the Indian Constitution, the president has the power to convene Parliament sessions. Besides, the President is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.  

Nearly 40 ministers are expected to take an oath, and around 25-30 new faces will be introduced in the new Yogi-led cabinet. 

“I remember the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath). I had seen Radha Mohan Agarwal on the occasion. He was not able to find a seat and had to keep standing. He has been insulted the most in the BJP government,” SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said.

Meanwhile, Sukhjinder Randhawa, who was the frontrunner for the CM post, has been appointed as the deputy CM along with Brahm Mohindra.
 

As per reports, the newly-formed Taliban government has rolled out invitations to various countries to be part of the oath-taking ceremony, including China, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Qatar, India, and also interestingly, the US.

The highly anticipated Cabinet expansion under CM Basavaraj Bommai will take place today at 2:15 pm. The CM informed reporters that by 11 or 11.30 am, the official list will be sent by high command. The CM was told by central leaders that they will give a nod for the oath-taking of new ministers by the first half of the day. Eight lawmakers have received a call from the CM so far.

The ceremony will take place in Tehran on August 5, and it will be attended by several heads of the government and foreign ministers. 

Basavaraj Bommai arrived at Raj Bhawan at around 10:30 am on Wednesday for the oath-taking ceremony, accompanied by BS Yediyurappa.

However, it is yet to be decided who will represent New Delhi at the Iranian president's oath-taking ceremony.

"We have finalised seven names. January 14 is the festival. Most probably the oath-taking ceremony will take place on January 13 afternoon. I will confirm the names and portfolios later," the Chief Minister told reporters.

A 14-member council of ministers, headed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, was sworn in at the oath-taking ceremony in Patna in the presence of the Governor
