"The entire population of Karnataka knows now that voting for Janata Dal-Secular is like voting for the Congress. How can JD-S form the government? There is neither a sentiment (in favour of JDS) nor seats,"  Union Home Minister Amit Shah told Asianet Suvarna News Editor Ajit Hanamakkanavar.

Speaking exclusively to Asianet Suvarna News Editor Ajit Hanamakkanavar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah touched upon a number of subjects, including the recent controversy surrounding Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's 'poisonous Snake' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Amit Shah said: "They (Congress) distributed guarantee cards in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Manipur and Tripura. Those were much better than the guarantees that what they are offering here. The party that has no image, who will believe their guarantees?"

For the Karnataka BJP, it was a win in 12 seats and routing the opposition Congress and JDS in the by-election to 15 Assembly segments was no doubt a happy occasion for the party in the state. But for chief minister BS Yediyurappa, this is the perfect stage to pave the way for his younger son BY Vijayendra, who could take over the reins from BSY to lead the state unit of the party in the future

CM HD Kumaraswamy said the dissidence in Congress is more than JDS over portfolio allocation and says the problem will ease eventually.
