The election season in Karnataka has kicked into top gear. The state which is scheduled to go to polls on May 10, is witnessing intense campaigning by leaders of top leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, the Congress party and the Janata Dal-Secular. Besides, there are a number of Kannada celebrities who are campaigning in high-profile constituencies. Corruption and price rise are some of the issues that the opposition is pinning their hopes on while the government is banking on the governance and development agenda. Experts believe that the Narendra Modi factor will be crucial for the BJP while the Congress will be hoping that there is still some resonance of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra among the voters in Karnataka. Will Basavaraj Bommai be able to retain power in the state or will Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar be able to dethrone the ruling BJP? The Karnataka verdict will be out on May 13. Yogi's show of strength in JDS stronghold of Mandya

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did a massive roadshow in the JDS stronghold in Mandya. Seen accompanying Yogi Adityanath were MP Sumalatha, Mandya BJP candidate Ashok Jayaram and Srirangapatna candidate Hinduwala Sachidananda. 

People thronged the roadshow and chants of ' Yogi, Yogi' were heard from those on the roadside.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath was given a grand welcome on his arrival at Sanjay Circle in Mandya. Along with Yogi, MP Pratap Sinha and Minister Ashwath Narayan too arrived by helicopter. 

Yogi Adityanath will be campaigning in Mandya Nagar and Basavanbagewadi. He will return to Karnataka on April 30 after today's campaign.

Karnataka Election 2023: Mamata, KCR and Pinarayi to join hands with JDS?

As the campaign for the Karnataka assembly elections reaches its peak, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao are expected to arrive in the state to campaign for former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's Janata Dal-Secular.

According to reports, Chandrasekhar Rao may campaign in Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts as well as Raichur and Yadgiri (border constituencies of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh). The JD-S has formed a state election campaign committee comprising 21 members under the chairmanship of CM Dhananjaya, who left the Congress party and joined the JD-S recently. 

The main aim of creating the committee is to ensure that in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a third front or an anti-BJP front could be forged. Chandrasekhar Rao has already held talks in Bengaluru with JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda in this regard.

Priyanka Gandhi makes dosa at Mysore's famous Mylari Hotel

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi prepared dosa at the Mylari Hotel, off New Sayyaji Rao Road, Agrahara, in Mysuru. She had idli and crispy masala dosa for breakfast at the famous hotel in Mysore. 

She was accompanied by state party in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC chief D K Shivakumar and others.

Priyanka had stayed at Hotel Radisson Blu plaza after a hectic campaigning at Hanur.

PM Modi to interact with 50 lakh BJP workers on Thursday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have virtual interaction with 50 lakh BJP workers of the state at 9.30 am on Thursday. 

This dialogue was held at 58,112 booths and 1,680 Zilla Panchayat levels of the state. TVs will be installed in the booths and LED screens will be installed at the district panchayat level. 24 lakh workers have already downloaded the Modi app for this dialogue.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje and Minister of State for Information Technology Rajiv Chandrasekhar said that this is the first time that a live dialogue has been organized using new technology and the activists will watch the dialogue through these apps at 58000 places at the booth level.

About 58,000 workers at the LED screen and 200 workers at the booths have been coordinated for this program. A plan has been made to download 5000 Namo apps in each assembly constituency. He said that Prime Minister Modi will answer questions from 15 different districts including Bangalore.

Actor Sudeep to take a helicopter campaign in six seats

Actor Sudeep will campaign in six assembly constituencies for the ruling BJP on Wednesday.

A special helicopter has been arranged for Sudeep's campaign and he will campaign through public meetings and road shows from morning to night, the release said.

He will conduct a road show in Molakalmuru and Jagaluru constituencies of Chitradurga district. Later, he will attend a public meeting in Mayakonda constituency of Davangere district. From there, Davangere will canvass for votes in North and South constituencies through a road show. Later in the evening, he will conduct a road show in Sandur constituency of Bellary district and stay there.
