Ganesh Chaturthi: Gujarat artist makes eco-friendly idol, aims to promote COVID inoculation
As Maharashtra and other states are preparing for the most awaited Ganesh Chaturthi amid the ongoing pandemic, an artist named Dakshesh Jangid recently made an eco-friendly idol, showing God sitting on a vaccine vial with a syringe and a face mask.
To promote COVID-19 protocols and get vaccinated, an artist from Gujarat's Vadodara has come up with an innovative way to raise awareness. As Maharashtra and other states are preparing for the most awaited Ganesh Chaturthi amid the ongoing pandemic, an artist named Dakshesh Jangid recently made an eco-friendly idol, showing God sitting on a vaccine vial with a syringe and a face mask. Â
The 2.5 feet idol also featured the warriors, and to pay respect to the warriors, tiny structures were made beside the vial for their contribution.
Speaking to the media, the artist said he has been making Ganesh idol business for the past few years and wanted to use his skills to raise awareness about the vaccination. He further urged citizens to get inoculated as soon as possible.Â
Further adding, he said people should celebrate the festival while following the protocols laid down by the government to prevent the expected third wave of the virus. As per media reports, the idol was ready in just two days.
Earlier, Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal announced that it would celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi this year and keep all the COVID-19 protocols in mind.Â
However, they did not organise the festival for the first time in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, they had organised a blood and plasma donation camp.
For the unaware, Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day festival and will start on September 10 this year. Meanwhile, all the devotees have already started the preparation for the celebration.
