The IT officials first targeted the luxurious Eagleton resort where the legislators from Gujarat were staying They told the security at the gate that they wanted to play golf and asked him to let in Minister DK Shivakumar who had just returned from New Delhi, was also staying at the resort
The Income Tax officials who first swooped on Energy Minister DK Shivakumar at the Eagleton Resort on Wednesday, had in fact adopted a clever yet unsuspecting strategy to enter the premises, where the minister was staying.

In a cinematic style, the officials in two cars arrived at the resort at 7.10 am only to find heavy police security at the resort gate. The police were keeping strict vigil at the resort where the Congress legislators from Gujart were staying. They have been brought to the resort by Energy minister DK Shivakumar and his brother and Parliamentarian DK Suresh to stop Gujarat BJP members from poaching them ahead of Rajya Sabha elections over there.
Finding the police at the gates, the officials told the security that they had come to play golf at the resort and asked him to let them in. The unsuspecting security promptly called the resort authorities who gave him a green signal. As the officials gained entry into the resort, they were followed by Central Reserve Police Force personnel, along with them, reports Kannada Prabha.
It is reported that minister Shivakumar who had just returned from Delhi on Tuesday night had stayed at the resort. His brother and MP Suresh was staying in another room at the resort. The IT officials first went up to the Shivakumar and Suresh's rooms and seized their mobile phones. Later, they also searched at the Gujarat legislators' rooms, reports Kannada Prabha.
The officials grilled the resort manager Mathew and sought details of the expenses of the Gujarat legislators at the resort. According to Kannada Prabha, the resort had received Rs 25 lakh through RTGS from the Gujarat Congress Committee. The officials later took the minister from the resort to his residence at Sadashivanagar to continue their search.
Even on Thursday, the television reports said the officials posed as parents seeking admission to their wards before entering the National Hill View Public School at Rajarajeshwari Nagar. They officials have found demonetised notes at the school, it is reported.
