Addressing the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, PM Modi said that India has become the third-largest startup ecosystem globally. He affirmed that the change is visible in the country's tier-1 and tier-2 cities and not just the big cities. "In the last few years, a new culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship has developed in the country. India is the 3rd-largest startup ecosystem in the world. There are over 2,30,000 recognised startups in the country... this change is not limited to big cities. These days, a large number of young people from tier-2 and tier-2 cities are also demonstrating their strength... The role of women's power is also continuously increasing in this change," he said.

Youth Urged to Join Public Service

He further asserted that India's youth are making a significant mark across every global field, noting that their vibrant spirit and dynamic energy must now be deeply integrated into the nation's public services. "Today, India's youth are making their mark in every field of the world. This same spirit, this same energy should be reflected in public service as well. India will be developed through the efforts of such youth, who consider their work a means of serving the nation and the people... I am fully confident that the youth who received their appointment letters today will give new impetus to India's development journey," he said.

Unprecedented Era of Opportunity

The Prime Minister further highlighted that the current generation of young Indians is witnessing an unprecedented era of opportunity to progress and achieve their aspirations. The Prime Minister asked the youth to focus on the expanding economic landscape, stating that countless avenues are opening up in multiple sectors.

The Prime Minister pointed to targeted flagship programs, such as the PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) initiative, as key drivers of this structural overhaul. "Today, India's youth have opportunities to progress and fulfil their dreams like never before. The reality is that everything is happening at a very fast pace, on a vast scale, and filled with diversity. Today, countless opportunities await us in many sectors, including manufacturing, technology, start-ups, digital services, railways, defence, and, more importantly, space," PM Modi said.

"Our effort is to ensure that as many young people as possible can take advantage of new opportunities. Therefore, there is a constant emphasis on skill development, industry links, education, and future technology. IITs are being made modern. National Skill Training Institutes are being strengthened. Programmes like PM Setu are working in this direction," he added.

Global Excitement for India's Youth and Tech

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said countries across the globe are highly enthusiastic about the country's youth and its technological advancements. He shared insights from his recently concluded five-nation tour, noting a common sentiment among global corporate and political leaders regarding India's growth trajectory.

PM Modi said, "I just returned from a trip to five countries two days ago. It was only a five-nation trip, but during this time, I spoke, had detailed discussions, and met with leaders of major companies from dozens of countries, and I felt one thing in common everywhere: The world is very excited about India's youth and India's technological progress."
