4 outstanding scenes from Wonder Woman that make it a must-watch...even better than Baahubali 2

Scene 1

Superhero fans had been anticipating the Wonder Woman movie premiere much like Baahubali 2 was being waited upon in India. Seems like the two had a lot in common, apart from a good looking cast and crew and some amazing fight sequences. Yes, they had fierce warrior women.

Baahubali had Devasena. That woman can draw a sword and slice you in three before you even know it. Check out her awesome archery skills which she displays after a simple one-line instruction from Amarendra Baahubali. That's a killer triple shot.

And if you have watched Wonder Woman then you may find some striking similarities between the two heroines - their skills in archery. Yeah, the Amazonians know their bows and arrows and they do it with style and grace that would put the Baahubali technique to shame. It's up and up and away...

Picture the Amazonian General Antiope, who in Greek mythology is said to be the sister of Hippolyte and the daughter of Ares – The God of War. Her bow and arrow skills are bang on.

Scene 2

This is one of the best scenes in the Wonder Woman movie and to think it was almost not going to be there!

The No Man’s Land scene features Diana entering World War I wasteland in between two trenches, one occupied by the Germans and the other by the Allied forces. This moment is that goosebump moment, when a woman, a warrior comes into her own. She does not need to fight any males, or spill any blood to show how fierce she is. All she does is cross a stretch of empty land, dodging whizzing bullets with a wave of her hand and a swoosh of her shield. Fearless and incredibly heroic in the face of adversity.

In an interview that appeared in Fandango  director Patty Jenkins admits that this scene was almost going to the shredder because Wonder Woman wasn’t fighting anyone or anything. But she did not give up.

“I think that in superhero movies, they fight other people, they fight villains,” she said. “So when I started to really hunker in on the significance of No Man's Land, there were a couple people who were deeply confused, wondering, like, ‘Well, what is she going to do? How many bullets can she fight?’ And I kept saying, ‘It's not about that. This is a different scene than that. This is a scene about her becoming Wonder Woman.’”

Scene 3

The scene in question comes shortly after Diana has been told by her mother that nor she nor Steve Trevor (the soldier she rescues) will be going anywhere as they have a duty to fulfil. But Diana knows she has a greater duty to complete. Amazonians are known for their girth, speed and reflexes and skill but there are some things even great superheroes cannot surmount but Diana Prince is not one to rest easy. Proving that no gap is too big for determination and resolve, all our Wonder Woman does is head back for a running start and take her leap of faith, showing us why exactly no spider web or shooting lasers could have done this.

Scene 4

She simply refuses to yield in the face of Ares. The point is clear: Wonder Woman is exceptional.
