India is today mourning 40 Central Reserve Police Force bravehearts, who were killed at Lethpora in Pulwama of Jammu & Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and scores of political leaders across the parties paid their tributes to 40 soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on February 14, 2019.

A shocked and enraged India responded with aerial strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Balakote after gathering intelligence inputs on terrorists' presence. It is said that around 300 terrorists were killed.

Former Indian Army’s Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Vinod Bhatia (Retd) appreciated the political and military leadership for bringing change in its counter-terrorism strategy.

Talking to Asianet Newsable, Lt Gen Bhatia said, "The successful precision strikes at the terrorist training camp at Jabba top, Balakote, demonstrated a politico-military will to raise the costs for Pakistan."

"This signalled a change in India's Counter-Terrorism strategy, wherein pre-emptive and punitive operations will be conducted not only along LOC but inside Pakistan if required," the former DGMO said.
