While the western countries are still scrambling leaving behind their citizens and assets in the war-torn country, after Taliban took over Afghanistan, besides citizens India has evacuated three Indo-Tibetian Border police (ITBP) hero sniffer dogs who had secured the Kabul Embassy for 3 years.

The three sniffer dogs--Maya, Ruby, and Bobby were airlifted by the IAF C-17 aircraft from Kabul to the Air Force Station Jamnagar in Gujarat on Tuesday and they reached ITBP Chawala Camp in Delhi on Wednesday.

The ITBP's K9 heroes on security duty at the Indian embassy at Kabul had helped detect several IEDs and protected lives of not only the Indian diplomats but also local Afghan civilians working in the embassy.

According to reports all the three K9s are extremely happy to touch Indian soil and come back to familiar sights, smells and sounds of our nation.

The dogs were trained at NTCD Bhanu, the elite dog training school at district Panchkula in Haryana.

India has evacuated around 150 citizens from the war-torn country since the Taliban took over Kabul on Sunday. The evacuation process was described as a “difficult and complicated” exercise by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
