First batch of Korean Covid-19 aid arrives in New Delhi

The medical aid announced the Korean government includes 230 oxygen concentrators, 200 oxygen cylinders with regulators and 100 negative pressure isolation stretchers. The second cargo shipment would arrive on May 12.

First Korean Covid-19 aid arrives in New Delhi-VPN

In order to help India to fight against the Coronavirus, Korea has sent its first consignment of medical supplies, including 30 oxygen concentrators and 200 oxygen cylinders with regulators to India. 

The first consignment has arrived at Delhi airport at 4:30 pm and was handed over to the Red Cross Society to be transported to hospitals.

"A valued partner in our extended neighbourhood. The first consignment of 30 oxygen concentrators & 200 oxygen cylinders with regulators arrives from the Republic of Korea. Welcome this support from our Special Strategic Partner," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet. 

"The Republic of Korea stands shoulder to shoulder with India in this hour of crisis. These 1st and 2nd consignments of medical items account for around 20 per cent of the whole support plan, and Korea will send more medical supplies as soon as it secures the supplies and flight schedule," the Republic of Korean Embassy in New Delhi said.

On receiving the urgent medical supplies, Republic of Korean Ambassador to India Shin Bongkil said, "I hope this supply will be helpful to ease the COVID-19 emergency situation in India. The Korean government will continue to work closely with the Indian Government in responding to the unfolding challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic."
