'In solidarity with Navjot Singh Sidhu': 4 Congress ministers in Punjab resign

In solidarity with Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Tuesday, four Punjab Congress leaders resigned as ministers. Within hours of Sidhu's resignation, Razia Sultana resigned as a Punjab cabinet minister just days after taking oath as a legislator.
Earlier, Pargat Singh, the minister of education, higher education, and sports, also resigned. Yoginder Dhingra, too, resigned as Punjab Congress general secretary "in sympathy with Navjot Singh Sidhu". After minister Razia Sultana and state party treasurer Gulzar Inder Chahal, Dhingra is the fourth Congress politician to resign.

He published a letter he sent to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The letter read, "The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress."

However, as per media sources, the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu has not been accepted, and top management has directed state officials to remedy the situation.
Earlier during the day, taking a dig at Sidhu, former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh stated that Navjot Singh Sidhu is "not a stable man." Taking to the micro-blogging site, Singh stated: "I told you so; he is not a stable man and is unfit for the border state of Punjab."
