With SpaceX and Virgin Galactic now privatising space and travelling to space as become a 'new normal', it seems that the space agencies have already started putting a price on it.
Recently, Virgin Galactic announced that they would be organising open ticket sales for space flights starting at $450,000 (or Rs 3,33,51,772) per ticket.

Speaking about the details, the company stated that it would offer three types of seats --- a single seat, a multi-seat, and a full flight buy out. It further said that they would also have a lucky draw option which would offer two free tickets. The registration for the same is open till September 1, and the winner will be announced around September 29.

The eligibility criteria for the flight states that one should be of a minimum age of 18 years, and the contest doesn't allow people sharing work relationships with Omaze from participating or people residing in countries on Unites Nation's list of embargoed countries.

This announcement came weeks after billionaire founder Richard Branson's trip to the edge of space. Branson had soared above 50 miles above New Mexico desert on July 11 and safely returned in the vehicle's first fully crewed test flight to space.
In June this year, the Virgin Galactic received approval from the United States aviation safety regulator to fly people to space.
