This record proves why Kohli is perceived to be next the Tendulkar of India. Tendulkar managed to score his 17 centuries during a chase in 232 innings. On the other hand, Kohli made it look so easy by scoring 18 tons in just 102 innings.

Apart from Kohli and Sachin, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chris Gayle hold a joint record of chasing down targets with 11 centuries each.

During their chase against West Indies at Sabina Park in Kingston, India faced an early loss after the man in-form Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed early on. Then came Kohli who stood firm in the pitch along with Ajinkya Rahane putting up a partnership of 79 runs.

After losing Rahane who scored 39 runs, Dinesh Karthik replaced Ranhane’s spot to build another partnership with Kohli. Karthik scored his 50 in just 52 balls which led to their partnership of unbeaten 122 runs.
