Bengaluru BMTC conductors are notorious for their behaviour, especially when it comes to tendering change.
It's either their way or the highway, and many daily commuters in the city have been victims. It is not uncommon for BMTC conductors to throw out a passenger, if he/she can't tender the exact change.

On Friday, Anita Jerry Ramesh, a city-based writer, posted avideo to Facebook, which shows a BMTC conductor abusing and misbehaving with her. What was her fault? She did not have change for "₹10."
Anita also added that the BMTC conductor abused her "continuously until I cried".
Later in the lengthy write-up, Anita, narrated the problems faced by commuters, especially women in Bengaluru. She also made some startling revelations such as how, in an incident, the auto driver threatened to rape her for not paying an extra amount. In another, she recounted how she was molested and beaten up by another auto driver.
Here is an excerpt from her Facebook post:
Sorry if you have to start your day with this.
Here's a video of a BMTC bus conductor abusing the passenger to get out of the bus because she did not have change of five rupees (for a 10). How disgusting can this be? Last week, a lady conductor (in a metro feeder bus from Mantri to Majestic) abused a girl because she spoke in Hindi and not in Kannada. How many more bus drivers, conductors and auto drivers will there be who cause nothing but inconvenience and hatred? And what are they even fighting for?
At around 7.15 pm yesterday, I took a bus from Mantri metro station to Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic). I'm very well aware that the ticket costs Rs. 5. Unfortunately, I had TEN bucks and not the exact change. What you see in the video is how he behaved for not having change (it's only a minute recording compared to 20 minutes of his nonsense). We were midway and because I refused to get off the bus, he wouldn't stop yelling about change, about my parents, about my parents not teaching me any discipline, about using an 'English word' during the argument, about not being a 'proper Kannadiga', about talking back at all. He said that it's BMTC's rule for passengers to give exact change - a lie. Well, if the ticket was Rs 12 and I gave 100 rupees or 500 note, I would totally understand that returning change becomes difficult. But for a 10?
