A month after Tamil groups threatened shops in Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border to remove Kannada nameplates and boards, pro-Kannada activists targeted resorts in Anekal and surrounding areas that have put up banners welcoming Tamil Nadu politician VK Sasikala.

In a setback to expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala who was released a few days ago from jail, a case against her has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking to prevent her from hoisting party flag at CM MG Ramachandran's residence.

Sasikala was released on Wednesday after she completed four years of imprisonment in a jail here in a case of disproportionate assets.

However, as the former AIADMK General Secretary is being treated for COVID-19 at the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru, she is unlikely to return to Chennai soon.
 

Her sister-in-law J Ilavarasi, who is also serving a prison term in the corruption case, has tested positive for coronavirus and has been admitted to Victoria Hospital.

Sasikala, admitted to the Bowring Hospital on Wednesday, is presently in the dedicated Covid-19 Centre of the Victoria Hospital in the city and her condition was stable, hospital sources added.

Sasikala’s nephew and AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran, who rushed to Bengaluru, expressed satisfaction at the treatment being given to his aunt.

Decks cleared for late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's confidante V K Sasikala's release from the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail after she pays up the fine imposed by the trial court in the disproportionate assets case.

With the four-year jail term nearing its end in the disproportionate assets case, convict VK Sasikala will be out soon and as per the court order which also slapped a fine amount of Rs 10 crore as a condition for release, she has allegedly asked her lawyer to keep the fine amount ready.
 

The assets frozen under the Benami Prohibition Act also include two properties worth around Rs 300 crore. 
 

Sasikala Natarajan who is in jail after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case is a few months away from release. The information was obtained by an RTI activist in this connection. 
 

An inquiry report has created a frenzy after it revealed that VK Sasikala,  aide of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, has been given preferential treatment in the Parappana Agrahara prison.

The new party by Sasikala's brother V Dhivakaran is Anna Dravida Kazhagam, and its flag was released in Mannargudi

The audio of late CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa, while she was in the Apollo Hospital was released by Sasikala's aides to the Arumughaswamy inquiry commission probing the allegedly mysterious death of Jaya.
