Rape Cases

With several rape cases coming to light in the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued advisory to states on dealing with crimes against women. The Ministry of Home Affairs has told states to ensure mandatory registration of FIRs, collection of evidence for forensic examination, and to act against erring officers.

The saffron party, which is leaving no stones unturned in holding the ruling Congress government responsible for the spike in rape cases, has extended their support to the ruling dispensation in fighting the menace which they feel has embarrassed the state to a great extent.

'Sometimes it is very shocking for me, every month we have seen rape stories in our country, crime is increasing day by day and rape cases are also increasing day by day,' said Mary Kom

With the Hyderabad gang rape and murder case sending chills down everyone's spine, the Bengaluru police have been on high alert to prevent atrocities against women. Over 130 cases have been reported in 11 months in the Silicon City of India.

While the encounter of four accused in Hyderabad rape and murder case is being debated now and most have expressed opinions that the victim has got justice, three more rape cases have been reported from Bulandshahr and Unnao in Uttar Pradesh and Darbhanga in Bihar.

With the recent uproar that has taken place in the country with regards to the Unnao and Kathua rape cases, many have criticised the central government for not taking up stringent measures to punish the accused.
