Sources in Navjot Singh Sidhu camp said that the firebrand leader had opposed the appointment of Deol as state advocate general as the latter had been counsel for former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini.

Congress high command has instructed Siddaramaiah along with senior leaders to attend a meeting on January 1 to discuss and finalise the appointment of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president.
