A letter war has been triggered in Maharashtra between Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over Covid-19 unlock guidelines.

Responding to the Governor's letter mocking the state government for reopening of bars and restaurants while keeping places of worship shut, Uddhav said he that he did not require a certificate on Hindutva from the former.

In his letter, Uddhav also took a dig at the Governor for inviting actor Kangana Ranaut, who had termed Mumbai as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, to the Raj Bhavan.

He wrote: "I appreciate the mention of Hindutva in your letter, but my Hindutva does not require your certificate. My Hindutva does not appreciate welcoming a person with a smile, who termed my state or the capital of my state as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir."

Governor Koshiyari, in his letter, asked Uddhav as to whether he had suddenly turned 'secular' and whether he was receiving 'divine premonition' to keep postponing reopening of places of worships.

"I wonder if you are receiving any divine premonition to keep postponing re-opening (of places of worship) or you have suddenly turned secular yourselves, the term you hated?" Koshyari asked.

To this, Uddhav shot back saying, "As imposing lockdown all of a sudden was not right, revoking it completely at once will also be not a good thing. Have you suddenly turned secular yourselves, the term you hated?"
