Navjot Singh Sidhu is a 'misguided missile': SAD's Sukhbir Badal
Speaking to reporters, Badal said he had already stated that Navjot Singh Sidhu is a 'misdirected missile' with no idea where it is going or who it will harm.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) head Sukhbir Singh Badal claimed that Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, who quit, is a "misguided rocket" with no idea where it is going. Speaking to reporters, Badal said he had already stated that Navjot Singh Sidhu is a 'misdirected missile' with no idea where it is going or who it will harm. He further said Badal initially demolished Captain Amarinder Singh by becoming the head of the Punjab Congress and then annihilated his party.
Taking a shot at Sidhu, the SAD leader suggested that the latter travel to Mumbai in order to preserve Punjab. "I had also cautioned Sidhu about the type of guy he is. Every child in Punjab is aware of this. He is a self-centred individual. If Punjab is to be preserved, I beg that Sidhu Sahib travel to Mumbai," he continued.Â

According to sources close to Congress, Sidhu's resignation has not been accepted. According to them, top leadership has urged state leadership to first handle the problem at their local level. On July 23, Sidhu was named President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC). Following Sidhu's departure, a slew more resignations came in. A minister and three Congress politicians considered close to Sidhu resigned from their positions, dealing a significant blow to the Congress high command.

Sidhu's resignation came only days before former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's visit to the national capital. Sidhu resigned on September 18 and was scheduled to visit Delhi.
The quarrel in the Punjab Congress erupted as the party's central leadership attempted to bury the hatchet by selecting Navjot Singh Sidhu as Congress president, over the Chief Minister's wishes.
